Face Care Products: Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

Yay or Nay? Yay!
Php 200 (via Shopee seller) but P245 in Nature Republic stores

With transparent inner cover

I am running out of Neogen so I wanted to explore what moisturizer I could buy at much lesser cost. I thought of the Aloe Vera gel hype and discovered that Nature Republic is the original hype starter. I saw reviews of other copycats like Bench and Mumuso — many say those were sticky and left some users with zits after usage. I didn’t want to risk that even if they were cheaper than Nature Republic. And c’mon, at Php 245 for a 300ml tub?! It’s worth the purchase.

Great points about this compared to Neogen and Laneige (though I enjoyed using them):

  • Cheaper at only P245 (or score it at lower price like I did via Shopee)
  • Gives same moisturizing and more cooling effect
  • Huge 300ml amount will last longer

Comparing the size of Nature Republic and Neogen

I read how some people use it though I primarily use moisturizers for my dry skin (e.g. some parts of my face, eye area, scabs, elbows, knees, slightly burnt skin area if any). Some use it as an aftershave moisturizer. Some also swear that it’s nice for scalp (dandruff is flaked skin from a dry scalp after all). Not sure if it can be used for the actual hair strands (for taming wild hair, I guess?).

I saw that it contains spearmint so I guess that’s the reason why it’s more cooling than Neogen and Laneige. I have mixed feelings about the alcohol content though. I know it’s nice for sanitation purposes but I have oily skin so putting this on my face may cause me to oil some more. I can only use minimal and on needed areas only if I I’m going to apply it on my face.

Like what my URL dictates, this is an unpaid review. It was reviewed out of either whim or rant/rave.
